American Idolissa on tänä vuonna päästy vaiheeseen, että 3 parasta esiintyy. Itseasiassa he esiintyivät viime yönä (ehdoton suosikkini tänä vuonna on Adam Lambert, joskaan Taylorin kaltaista suosikkia tuskin koskaan tulee minulle eteen uudelleen)
3 vuotta sitten tämä oli se hetki, kun tiesin varmuudella, että Taylor Hicks tulee voittamaan. Ensin upea versio Joe Cockerin ”You Are So Beautiful”-biisistä ja tämän jälkeen suosikkini koko kaudelta ”Try a Little Tenderness”, jonka hän omisti MEILLE!

Hyvä ystäväni Atlantin takaa kirjoitti Taylorin esityksestä (Try a Little Tenderness) näin (enkä voisi olla enempää samaa mieltä, täydellinen kuvaus siitä hetkestä):
Ok… I just rewatched this on the 50″ ….again, for the 50th time….. dang again for the 50th time… to quote Ryan… good night for you my friend, good night. The only thing I think he could have done better is at the end of coming down the ramp he was sort of short of his spot and had to speed up and walk over to where he wanted to be. A minor point but it does seem just a tad clumsey. From there he starts building and builds and builds until he hits the perfect cresendo.
He went to the side to side marching dance, the moving camera made it appear he was traversing across the stage. Providence would be my guess I doubt you could script that but the impact was devastating. Then the head toss the mic cross, you couldn’t help but think, how cool was that? There are some things you know without thinking about knowing it. In this case you know that not in a million years could Kat or Elliot pull this off. Maybe no one alive could pull this off. You get gold medals at the olympics for this sort of performance. This was one of those rare moments, John Travolta as Michael the arc angel line dancing in the bar, that’s how cool. Rocky thrusting his arms in the air as he makes it to the top of the steps, Joe Montana hitting Clark in the back of the in zone, and you knew the moment it happened. You had to laugh in disbelief. You had to laugh in awe. You had to laugh in joy. Game, set, match. Competion over. When it ended he knew he had nailed it, the audience knew he nailed it, his family knew he nailed it, the judges knew he nailed it, the angels in heaven knew he nailed it. And you knew he nailed it. He had painted his masterpiece and he did it at the perfect time.
